The Reverend Alvin J. Boone Sr. is a native of Virginia Beach, Virginia, born to Ms. Vivian Cuffee whom now resides in Elizabeth City, North Carolina with his wife Mrs. La'Shon H. Boone. They were blessed with four wonderful children; Alvin J. Boone Jr. [A.J.], Trustee Alicia K. Boone, whom both resides in the Northern VA area,  Jasmine Gary & Herbert Gary whom both resides in the Richmond, VA area. Pastor Boone has received a Bachelor of Theology in Biblical Studies, and is a Licensed and Ordained Missionary Baptist Minster. 

Pastor Boone has received many awards and honors and has held numerous positions among which are the following: Past President of the Ordination Council, Past President of Perquimans County Fellowship; Member of the NAACP; and is a Member of the Roanoke Ministerial Alliance. 

Pastor Boone has been the Sheppard of Melton Grove for the past 30 years. He is extraordinary man of God; a distinguished minister and has a wonderful, yet unique personality in that anyone that crosses his path in life are truly blessed just to have been in his presence.   

On July 27, 2014, God laid it on Pastor Boone heart to seek spiritual covering under the Gethsemane Baptist Church & Bishop Dwight S. Riddick, Sr. after the Late Rev. Dr. James B. Williams, Jr. went home to be with the Lord.
